Nico Dog Rescue Support Spain (NDRSS) is a small organisation based on the Murcia/Almeria border of southern Spain. It was set up in 2010 to help with the rescue and re-homing of some of the many dogs that had been abandoned or mistreated in Spain.
Originally our objective was to raise money for the bigger organisations already established and to put people with dogs in need in touch with people able to help. However, as time has gone on we have become more involved in the hands-on work of animal rescue, albeit in a limited capacity (during 2013 we rescued or rehomed 23 dogs and one cat) as we do not have the facilities to take in more than a few dogs any one time.
We continue to work with and support several charities who rescue dogs from Spain and re-home them into Europe and the USA. We foster and rehabilitate dogs and help to find them permanent homes where they will be safe and cared for.
For the last few years NDRSS was run by Deb, Di and Lynda but in February 2014 Lynda lost her battle with cancer. Lynda was a good friend and supporter and will be missed by us and the dogs she helped through her fundraising.
The dogs in our care change often so please visit our Facebook page to see the ones currently available for adoption or in need of foster care.
With kind regards
Deb and Di
